Luis Díaz Shines as Colombia Beat Uzbekistan 3-1

Group Stage · Group K · Estadio Azteca, Mexico City · June 17, 2026

Luis Díaz scored one goal and set up another as Colombia beat Uzbekistan 3-1 in front of 80,824 at Estadio Azteca.

Díaz created the opener for Daniel Muñoz in the 40th minute. Abbosbek Fayzullaev equalized for Uzbekistan on the hour, but Díaz put Colombia back in front five minutes later, from Gustavo Puerta’s pass. Substitute Jaminton Campaz added a third deep in stoppage time, set up by Cucho Hernández.

The woodwork was busy: Díaz hit it for Colombia, and Bekhruz Karimov and Eldor Shomurodov both did for Uzbekistan.

Colombia top Group K with three points, two ahead of Portugal and DR Congo.
