New Zealand National Football Team

Tīma hoka a-motu o Aotearoa
(New Zealand Football)
Founded in 1891

The New Zealand men’s national football team represents New Zealand in international competition and is governed by New Zealand Football. A member of FIFA and competing within the Oceania Football Confederation, the team is officially known as the All Whites and serves as one of Oceania’s most prominent national programs.

New Zealand has qualified for the FIFA World Cup on three occasions, making appearances in 1982 and 2010, and securing qualification for the expanded 2026 tournament. Their 2010 World Cup campaign stands out as a historic achievement, as New Zealand finished the group stage unbeaten, drawing all three matches and becoming the only team at the tournament not to lose a game, despite exiting in the group phase.

At the regional level, the All Whites have enjoyed sustained success, winning the OFC Nations Cup six times and regularly representing Oceania at the FIFA Confederations Cup. These achievements have positioned New Zealand as a consistent regional power, often navigating the unique challenges of World Cup qualification through intercontinental playoff pathways.

In the modern era, New Zealand continues to balance regional dominance with growing global ambition. With a developing domestic football structure, increasing international exposure for its players, and renewed momentum heading into the 2026 World Cup, the All Whites remain a central force in Oceania football and a competitive presence on the international stage.
