Saudi Arabia has also left a lasting mark on global tournaments through landmark results, including a historic victory over eventual champions Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, one of the most memorable upsets in tournament history.

In the modern era, Saudi Arabia continues to expand its global football presence, supported by major hosting roles on the international calendar. The country is set to host the AFC Asian Cup in 2027 and the FIFA World Cup in 2034, milestones that underline Saudi Arabia’s growing influence in world football.
