Jordan National Football Team

المنتخب الأردني لكرة القدم
(Jordan Football Association)
Founded in 1949

The Jordan men’s national football team represents Jordan in international competition and is governed by the Jordan Football Association. A member of FIFA and competing within the Asian Football Confederation, the team is widely known by its nickname Al Nashama (The Chivalrous Ones), reflecting the nation’s pride and sporting identity.

Jordan has steadily built its reputation in Asian and regional football through consistent tournament participation. The national team has appeared in five AFC Asian Cup tournaments, reaching a historic milestone in the 2023 edition by advancing to the final for the first time and finishing as runners-up. Regionally, Jordan has also claimed success at the Arab Games, winning gold medals in 1997 and 1999, and has reached multiple finals in West Asian competition.

The program continued its upward trajectory by finishing runners-up at the FIFA Arab Cup in 2025, reinforcing Jordan’s growing competitiveness beyond continental play. These results marked a period of sustained progress, driven by improved organization, player development, and experience at major tournaments.

Jordan’s football journey reached its most significant achievement with qualification for the FIFA World Cup for the first time for the 2026 tournament. That breakthrough represents a defining moment in the nation’s sporting history, as Al Nashama enter a new era with the opportunity to showcase Jordanian football on the global stage.
