South Africa to Host Panama in Durban and Cape Town Friendlies

The South Africa men’s national football team will host the Panama national football team in two international friendly matches as part of their preparations for upcoming global competitions.

According to the South African Football Association (SAFA), the two matches will be played in March 2026 in two of the country’s largest football venues.

The first friendly is scheduled for March 27, 2026, at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. The teams will then meet again four days later on March 31, 2026, at DHL Stadium in Cape Town.

Important Preparation Matches for Bafana Bafana

The friendlies will give South Africa valuable preparation time as the national team continues building toward major international tournaments. Matches against teams from other confederations also provide an opportunity for the coaching staff to evaluate tactical options and squad depth.

Panama represents a strong test for Bafana Bafana. The Central American side has become a regular competitor in international tournaments and has gained experience against teams from across the Americas.

For South Africa, the matches will also allow fans in two major cities to see the national team in action. Durban and Cape Town are among the country’s most iconic football locations and have hosted numerous major international matches in the past.

Tickets and Fan Attendance

Tickets for the friendlies have been priced to encourage strong attendance. Adult tickets start from approximately R80, while children under the age of 12 can attend for R50, making the matches accessible for families and young supporters.

SAFA expects strong interest in both matches as South African supporters prepare to rally behind Bafana Bafana during an important period for the national team.

Building Momentum for the Future

Under head coach Hugo Broos, South Africa has focused on developing a competitive squad capable of challenging stronger opponents on the international stage.

The upcoming friendlies against Panama will serve as an important step in that process, giving the team valuable international experience and the chance to build momentum before the next major competitions.

For supporters across the country, the two matches will also be an opportunity to celebrate the national team and create an exciting atmosphere in two of South Africa’s most passionate football cities.
