The Egypt men’s national football team represents Egypt in international competition and is governed by the Egyptian Football Association. A member of FIFA and competing within the Confederation of African Football, the team is widely known by its nickname, the Pharaohs, and is recognized as Africa’s oldest national football side.

Egypt is the most successful nation in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations, having won the tournament a record seven times. The national team was also the first African and Middle Eastern side to qualify for the FIFA World Cup, debuting in 1934. Across its history, Egypt has qualified for the World Cup on multiple occasions, including appearances in 1990, 2018, and qualification for the 2026 tournament, maintaining a long-standing presence at the highest level of international football.

The Pharaohs’ modern legacy was shaped by a dominant era in the 2000s, when Egypt won three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008, and 2010.
